Friday Catch Up and Tailgaiting

So, what's on my planner for this weekend? Nothing much, girl date tonight, soccer, karate practice, grocery shopping, a potential couple date Saturday, another potential couple date Sunday, maybe some laundry. Well, I know that none of you are interested in the details of karate practice, and grocery shopping, I am sure that you will want to hear some details of the girl and couple date. Don't worry, Hubman and I will deliver.

If Hubman and I find some time during our busy schedule this weekend, I can rest assure you that we will be working on that special film we promised. What film?

Remember, if you all send the gorgeous Vixen, who runs Tits for Troops, pictures from 30 of you, saying that ASM referred you between now and midnight eastern time on Monday, September 15, 2008, there will be a little treat like I posted on Monday, as your reward.

Now, I had hoped to post some tailgaiting recipes for you last Friday, with football season upon us, but Windows Vista at work kicked my butt (ouch!) so I did not have time. I am happy to say that I beat Windows Vista and have time to post them today. These are all easy and require minimal culinary skill.

Hubman: ASM is another one of those days at work and is now driving to a conference. She asked me to finish and publish her post and she promises to give out the other tailgating food recipes later.

Hot Onion Cheese Dip- Seriously, if you feed this to a guy and he does not like it, I would question his membership in the heterosexual man club. I mean, cheese, mayo and bacon? This is man food. You can make it with light ingredients and turkey bacon, for those of you concerned with fat and calories and all that.

Pie Plate
1C Mayo
1C Shredded Swiss Cheese
1/2 C Onion, chopped fine
4 Strips bacon, cooked crumbled, divided
1t Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper
Paprika

Preheat oven to 350
Mix Mayo, Cheese, onion, 1/2 the bacon and garlic powder.
Spread into pie plate, sprinkle with a little of the salt, pepper, paprika and bacon
Bake 20-25 minutes.

Serve with Crackers or bread.

Taco Dip- This is a family recipe. Its from some relatives in the midwest. As someone who grew up Italian and regularly ate squid, I find Midwestern cuisine fascinating.... but that is a whole other post. This one is also very easy. You can use light ingredients, again, but this is a thick and aggressive dip, you you can't use those wussy baked tortilla chips. Get the nice, thick ones.

The weekend sounds like lots of fun! Hopefully the video will be a success. If not , I'm sure it will make a lovely addition to your home library. Hmmm. Can I have a library card?
